How do you know God loves you?

How Do You Know God Loves You?

That’s a big question – one I’ve asked myself many times.

I’ve wrestled with the answers, questioning them over and over.

But it wasn’t until I took an anatomy class that I truly grasped it.

When we take a deep dive into the structure of our bodies, we begin to see things that are impossible to ignore. The sheer complexity, precision, and order within us point to something greater than mere chance.

Consider the neurons in our brains – the very foundation of how our bodies function. These tiny yet powerful cells are responsible for everything, from our ability to breathe to our capacity to learn, process emotions, and make decisions. They control involuntary functions, like keeping our hearts beating, and voluntary actions, like focusing in class or moving our hands to write.

And here’s something mind-blowing: there are approximately 100 billion neurons in your brain alone! To put that into perspective, that’s more neurons in your brain than there are stars in the Milky Way Galaxy.

Every single one of these neurons is part of an intricate network, forming trillions of connections called synapses that allow our bodies and minds to work seamlessly. These processes happen automatically, often without our awareness, allowing us to think, feel, move, and even dream.

Could this still be a coincidence?

The complexity, the design, the way everything works together so perfectly – it’s as if our bodies were crafted with intention, care, and love.

It reminds me of Psalm 139:14: "I praise You because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; Your works are wonderful, I know that full well."

But it’s not just science that points to God’s love.

Think about how we are wired – not just for survival, but for connection, empathy, creativity, and hope.

We aren’t just machines designed to function biologically; we experience life deeply. We laugh, cry, dream, love, and build relationships. We can look at a sunset and feel awe, listen to music and be moved to tears, or gaze at the stars and wonder about the vastness of the universe.

These moments of beauty and wonder seem like glimpses of God’s love, woven into the very fabric of who we are.

You knit me together in my mother's womb" is Psalm 139:13.

For me, it’s in the details – both big and small.

The fact that our bodies function so precisely without our constant effort is one way I feel assured of God’s love. He didn’t just create us and leave us to fend for ourselves.

1 Corinthians 10:13 says, "No temptation has overtaken you except what is common to mankind. And God is faithful; he will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear…

He designed us with intricacy, intention, and purpose.

Every breath we take, every thought we have, every heartbeat is evidence of His careful craftsmanship. It’s as if, in creating us, He left a permanent reminder of how deeply He cares about every aspect of our lives – down to the neurons that help us breathe, think, and feel.

And it doesn’t stop there.

God’s love isn’t just written in the biology of our bodies but also in the experiences of our lives. In the people who show us kindness, in the unexpected moments of peace, in the love we share with family and friends.

Even in the hardest moments, when life feels chaotic or uncertain, His love is still evident – in the strength we find to keep going, in the hope that refuses to fade, in the quiet assurance that we are never alone.

So, what about you?

Do you see God’s love reflected in the intricate design of life, in the beauty of the world around you, or in the experiences that shape your journey?

However you find it, one thing is certain: His love is everywhere, you are not alone, woven into the very essence of our existence.
